Eligibility for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Garhwal Pauri (Khaira Sain)

Class 6 Eligibility
Candidates must be studying in Class 5 in a government-recognized school or NIOS 'B' Certificate Competency Course in the same district where the JNV is located.
Candidates must have been promoted to and admitted to Class 5 on or before July 31, 2025, to be eligible for JNVST 2026.
Rural Quota: For admission under the rural quota, candidates must have studied and passed Classes 3, 4, and 5 in a government-recognized school located in a rural area.
Class 9 Eligibility
Applicants must have passed the Class 8 exam from a recognized board.
Students must reside and be studying in the same district where the JNV is located and admission is sought.
Candidates must be studying in Class 8 from a government or government-recognized school during the academic year 2026 to be eligible for JNVST 2026.
Only Indian nationals studying in Class 8 in India are eligible to apply.

Selection Process at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Garhwal Pauri (Khaira Sain)

Selection for admission to JNVs is based on the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) conducted for both Class 6 and Class 9.
Candidates who pass the exam are then considered for admission, subject to document verification.

Class 9: Candidates must be between 13 and 16 years old (specific dates apply, check notification). For JNVST Class 9 Admission 2026, the age limit is between May 1, 2010, and July 31, 2012, inclusive of both dates. No age relaxation is provided for any categories, including reserved categories.
Application Fee	There is no application fee for online JNV admission.
Total Seats	Approximately 80 seats are available in each JNV for Class 6 admission. The number of seats for Class 9 admission depends on the availability of vacancies.
